Privacy Policy

1. Information processed

• Precise location: latitude, longitude, city label, and time zone are processed to calculate prayer times and Qibla. Location is sent to Aladhan for prayer calculations and, when prayer notifications are enabled, stored in Firebase with the notification registration.
• Notification identifier: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token, platform, language, reminder settings, and related device registration are stored to deliver prayer notifications.
• Assistant content: questions entered in the sourced assistant are sent to our Firebase backend and then to OpenAI to generate a response. Questions may reveal religious or philosophical beliefs. The app does not intentionally request names, contact details, health records, or financial information.
• Anonymous quota identifier: a randomly generated app installation identifier is hashed and used to enforce the assistant's daily question limit.
• On-device activity: Quran reading progress, prayer tracking, dua completion, preferences, and assistant history are stored locally on the device and are not synchronized to an account.

2. Why we use this information

Information is used only for app functionality: calculating location-dependent religious times and directions, delivering notifications, generating requested assistant answers, preventing quota abuse, maintaining reliability, and responding to support requests.

3. Service providers

We use Apple platform services, Firebase and Google Cloud, OpenAI, Aladhan, QuranEnc, and Islamic Network. These providers process limited information needed to provide their respective features. See Sources & Services for details and links.

4. Retention

• Local preferences and progress remain on the device until reset or the app is deleted.
• Notification registrations remain until replaced, disabled after an invalid token, or removed following a verified request.
• Anonymous assistant quota records are retained for operational and abuse-prevention purposes and are not used to build advertising profiles.
• Assistant questions are not saved in our Firestore database as conversation records. OpenAI may temporarily process or retain API data according to its service and privacy terms.

5. Permissions and choices

You may deny or revoke Location and Notification permissions at any time in iOS or Android system settings. Features that require those permissions may stop working. Deleting the app removes data stored locally. To request removal of a notification registration or ask a privacy question, contact us at the address below.

6. Tracking, advertising, and children

The app does not use advertising identifiers, does not serve third-party advertising, and does not link app data with third-party data for advertising or tracking. The app is intended for a general audience and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Security and international processing

Data is transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections. Cloud providers may process data in countries other than the user's country. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes

We may update this policy when app features or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated, and material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page.
